Junior Golf: One More Gift

In today’s Friday Flop Shot we are offering a few emergency options in case you really really feel like you need another gift or 2 or 3. (photo offcoursegolf.com)img_0106

Well we’re down to it. Take a chill pill and make a list. Food items of course, which I am heading out right now to buy and hopefully scratch off my shopping list for good! And then the dreaded what am I forgetting gift list?

Isn’t this digital world wonderful? Here are several last minute gift-giving ideas that may partially save your sanity. The not very creative but works well for some members of your family gift card and a digital one at that. Most, if not all stores offer this. You can even have it digitally delivered to your loved one on Christmas Day. Very easy!

2nd item is to buy an item online and have it delivered to a store near you for pick up. Sony has combined with Best Buy to do exactly this. Purchase select Sony items including some of their great speakers, their newest 1000x Noise Cancelling Headphones and digital cameras through this offer and have the item delivered to a Best Buy store near you. In most cases you will be able to pick up your item before close of business, which I think is 6:00pm on Christmas Eve, at Best Buy.image

And if you’re feeling a little crazy here’s my final suggestion. Every few years, because we’re not really up to do this every year, S3 and I will pick out a big store that we like, say Dick’s Sporting Goods or Kohls and show up around 4:00pm Christmas Eve. Many stores give extra discounts in the last few hours before closing on Christmas Eve. It’s hectic, frantic and traffic is terrible, but since we have almost all our shopping done, we are not under any pressure and we can, in a strange sort of way, enjoy it. Try this, but please get your mind in the proper place beforehand. (photo Danford Golf)

One last thing. Linda and I stopped into a Walgreen’s Wednesday to have some passport photos taken. The young lady helping us said it would take 15-20 minutes and we were welcome to look around the store while we waited. Neither of us are regular Walgreen’s customers so imagine our surprise at the excellent and very low prices on a bunch of products throughout the store. Linda was able to find some nice last minute gifts for our grandkids and saved some good money in the process. Hey, swing into Walgreen’s. While they’re not a mega-department store they do have a much larger selection than you might expect. And there is probably one near your neighborhood. See you on #1 tee ready to have a very Merry Christmas… Sam

Merry Christmas to all… Sam and Linda

Junior Golf: It’s Getting Late

In today’s Wednesday Waggle we’re just reminding you that it’s getting late for taking advantage of special shipping offers to get your gifts delivered before Christmas.img_0102

There are so many good deals on so many neat items right now that it’s had to keep up. Take a look: The excellent Troon Golf Group is offering great packages at their clubs in the Mobile/Fairhope/Gulf Shores, Alabama, area. Buy a 6-pack of rounds and get some great pricing. They also have specials on logo balls, golf gloves and more. Items from very inexpensive to several hundred dollars. If you aren’t able to take advantage of the golf, buy a few logo balls. Your son will be the only kiddo in his area with them. (Dufner image golfdigest.com)

And http://www.tgw.com has free shipping on orders of $99 and higher plus standard shipping will still arrive by Christmas. There’s a Mystery Sale today. Visit their website and see what’s up.

Another company to look at is Frogger Golf. They are known for their innovative golf accessories and these items are most interesting. Go to www.froggergolf.com and check out the award-winning Brush Pro Original, Catch Latch Bag And Belt and TRAX Towel. Cool stuff!

Please also remember your brick and mortar golf shops which includes golf clubs and local driving ranges as well as Edwin Watts, Golfsmith, Golf Galaxy and Dick’s Sporting Goods to name a few. FYI Golf Galaxy and Golfsmith are owned by Dick’s so there is some commonality within those 3. Just spur of the moment stopping at a local driving range may result in some wonderful bargains. They don’t have the budget to advertise so you’ll want to swing by. Our local ranges put their golf shoes on at ridiculously low prices several times a year, but you wouldn’t be aware of it if you didn’t go by in person.

We understand everyone is crazy busy this time of year. Take time today, sacrificial time to do some creative shopping and still get standard shipping delivery before Christmas.

See you on #1 tee with something new and different… Sam

In today’s Black Friday Flop Shot we will look at some of the ridiculous sales in the world of golf that are going on right now and save some money! (image offcoursegolf.com)fimg_0106-1

Let’s see what 1 of our favorites, The Golf Warehouse, http://www.tgw.com has to offer: Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x custom name and numbers for $39.95 per dozen. A personalized very unique gift! Also Ecco, top quality golf shoes, Biom Hybrid 5.0 style for $119.99. And 3 different Caddytek push carts from $99.99-119.99. Big savings on these and a lot more items.

How about Golfsmith, http://www.golfsmith.com, being bought by Dick’s Sporting Goods: this is a special situation since Golfsmith is closing about 80 stores from California to Massachusetts. See the list of stores being closed here. If you are near a store that is closing, get there ASAP. Big savings are at hand. And the stores remaining open have a ton of great prices too!
